<\/a><\/p>\nMy mill was missing the drawbar wrench when I purchased it. I was using a small 1\/4 inch open end wrench but it was a bit of a pain to use and a little too short to get enough leverage when needed.<\/p>\n
Here is my simple solution on a better wrench.<\/p>\n
My draw bar has a 1\/4 inch square on top of it. Exactly the same size as a 1\/4\u00a0Inch ratchet does. I grabbed a socket, to test the fit, but it would not slip over the end of the drawbar.\u00a0The drawbar was mushroomed out a bit from being hit with a hammer in the past. A few quick licks with a file took care of that.<\/p>\n
Now I had something that fit the drawbar, all I needed to do was weld a handle on it. Problem one, my son had borrowed my welder. Then I had another idea. \u00a0I went a 1\/4 inch Allen wrench, and it fit in the bolt side of the 1\/4 inch socket that I was using perfectly. \u00a0I cleaned up the socket and wrench and used a little lock tight to hold them together.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s been in use for over 10 years and still holding up fine. And that welder my son had borrowed? Let\u2019s just say that I am glad I purchased another!<\/p>\n
